2000-11-15 - 9:51 a.m. In case you didn�t actually believe it, this is me in Ecuador.  My school arranges day trips every Saturday. In this picture, I�m on the way to El Giron, a waterfall about 30 kilometers away from Cuenca. We hiked for about an hour and a half, on narrow and winding and slippery trails occupied only by cows, and we ate lunch at the base of the waterfall. Last week, we went to Cajas National Park. Our guide spoke Spanish so slowly that even I was able to understand him and the altitude was so high that the smallest inclination made us gasp for breath.
